Due to the scarcity of spectrum resources, and the apparent inefficient usage of the spectrum, the need to revisit the distribution and utilization of the spectrum is vital. Cognitive radios are a good candidate for better spectrum utilization by exploiting the available spectrum holes introduced by the primary users activity patterns. The Cognitive Radio Networks Research Group @ E-JUST seeks to find new innovative ways to better utilize the available spectrum and enable cheaper, faster and more secure secondary user networks over unlicensed spectrum.
